In the spring of 2019, the merger between American Savings Bank of Middletown and Valley Central Bank marked a significant expansion for Valley Central, adding another location in Butler County: 701 N. University Blvd in Middletown. This merger brought Valley Central Bank's total combined banking experience to an impressive 265 years.



The roots of American Savings and Loan trace back to May of 1889 when it was established as The Germania Building and Loan Association, located at 12 North Main Street in Middletown. Over time, the institution evolved, changing its name to the American Building and Loan Association after the outbreak of World War I. In 1958, it adopted the name American Savings and Loan, a name that endured until the merger with Valley Central Bank.

The current University branch, situated at 701 N. University Blvd in Middletown, offers full-service banking to the communities of Middletown, Franklin, Springboro, Lebanon, Madison, Germantown, and Carlisle. With amenities including a drive-thru, ATM, Safe Deposit Boxes, and two conference rooms, this branch is a convenient hub for financial services. Managed by Nikki Rogers, the University branch is staffed by a friendly team ready to assist with personal or business checking accounts.
